Sometimes the sweetest moments come completely out of nowhere.
We received a message from Omnipod saying we won their Omnipod x Marvel giveaway and will be receiving our very own copy of the Dyasonic comic. I honestly entered not expecting anything at all, so getting that message was such a fun surprise.
We never win anything, so this was one of those rare little surprise moments that instantly made the day better.
The comic, Dyasonic, is part of a collaboration between Omnipod and Marvel that follows a superhero-inspired story centered around diabetes and technology. It’s designed to make diabetes feel more relatable and engaging for kids, especially through characters and storytelling that bring insulin management and devices into a world of imagination and empowerment.
It’s one of those small moments that instantly brightens your day. Diabetes is such a huge part of Kay’s life and our daily routine, so seeing it represented in a creative and kid-friendly way like this feels really special. Anything that helps make her world feel a little more fun, a little more relatable, and a little less heavy is something I will always appreciate.
Kay is still so little, but she already lives in a world full of medical devices, appointments, and routines that most kids never have to think about. So when things like this come along, it reminds me how important it is to also give her moments of joy, imagination, and normal childhood experiences too.
I’m excited for it to arrive and to share it with her. I already know she’s going to love it in her own way, even if that just means flipping through the pages and seeing the pictures.
It’s a small thing, but it feels like a really meaningful one. And I’m grateful for it.
