Today at GiGi’s Playhouse felt extra special in a way that is hard to fully put into words.
We got to spend time with part of the Athletics team, and having them there with us brought such an incredible energy into the space. It was more than just a visit. It felt like community, connection, and inclusion all happening at once under one roof.
Something that made this moment even bigger for our community is that the Athletics are now Las Vegas’s first Major League Baseball team. That alone carries so much excitement for our city. Seeing them not just arrive here as our home team, but also show up in spaces like GiGi’s Playhouse, made it feel even more meaningful. It was a reminder that this team is becoming part of our community in a real and personal way.
For our kids, seeing professional athletes walk into their world and meet them where they are is something powerful. There were smiles everywhere. There was curiosity, excitement, and that kind of joy you can only really understand when you see it happening in real time. Our kids were able to interact, play, and just be themselves without hesitation. That kind of acceptance is everything.
For me personally, it meant a lot. Days like this remind me that our community is seen. Not just as parents, not just as advocates, but as families who are building something meaningful every single day. Having a team like the Athletics take time out of their schedule to show up, engage, and genuinely connect with our kids speaks volumes. It is not something I take lightly.
GiGi’s Playhouse is already such a safe and joyful place for us, but today it felt even bigger than that. It felt like bridges being built between worlds that do not always get connected. And I know I am not the only one who felt that way. I am sure our entire community walked out of there feeling a little more seen, a little more supported, and a lot more hopeful.
Moments like this matter. They stay with our kids. They stay with us. And they remind us why inclusion is not just an idea, but something that can be lived and experienced in such a real and beautiful way.
I am so grateful we were there today to be part of it.
