On Saturday morning we attended a wonderful event hosted by Down Syndrome Connections, a local organization dedicated to supporting our community. A few years ago, they introduced Breakfast with Princesses and Superheroes, and it has quickly become a favorite! The kids absolutely love being surrounded by their favorite characters, taking pictures, and chatting with them. The energy is always so positive, with everyone making sure each child gets their special moment and photo opportunity.
I can only imagine the amount of work it takes to organize and run this event, but they do such an incredible job. All we have to do is purchase our tickets, show up, and enjoy! There’s no need to worry about choosing a meal—everything is pre-selected, with a few drink options available.
I’m always so grateful for organizations like this and the effort they put into creating meaningful experiences for the Down Syndrome community. I feel lucky to be part of such a strong and supportive network here in Las Vegas. Not every city or state has the resources we do, and I never take that for granted. Most of all, I’m thankful for Kay—because of her, I’ve found this incredible, loving, and accepting community.
