This past weekend was another soccer game for Kay, and I’m happy to say it felt so much more structured than our first one! I think things are really starting to come together.
Understandably, most of us parents were a little nervous during that first game—but after the organizers sent out an email explaining that each child could have one buddy or one parent with them on the field to limit the number of people, things smoothed out quite a bit. It really made a difference!
Sometimes it can be tricky for Kay to have a buddy who’s a general volunteer. Don’t get me wrong—the volunteers are all so kind and just want the kids to have fun—but Kay does best when someone who knows her a little is there. She’s a runner, so you have to gently hold her hand and guide her to the right spots, otherwise…well, she’ll take off! 😄
This time, Kay was lucky to have her Papa and Grandma Kay with her—and she absolutely loved it. She even had her Papa do the warm-up drills with her, which was so sweet to watch.
It’s such a fun time for Kay, and even though the season is short, I can already tell she’s really enjoying herself. Moments like these—watching her laugh, run, and participate—are just the best. We can’t wait for the next game!
