Saturday brought another exciting T-Ball game for Kay! Even though it’s still hot in Vegas, I’m hopeful the weather will start cooling down by next week—something I’m looking forward to! Kay loves playing T-Ball and being outdoors, but the heat can make it tough for everyone to fully enjoy. Thankfully, the league provides buddies, when possible, often high school athletes who volunteer to help the kids.
It’s always heartwarming to see the volunteers interacting with Kay and her teammates. When someone volunteers to assist Kay, I make sure to give them a heads-up: she’s quick on her feet and will take off in the opposite direction (or any direction she pleases) in a flash! I let them know it’s perfectly fine to hold her hand while they run to the bases or stand on a base after she’s had her turn at bat. The volunteers are always so kind and eager to help. Sometimes, I think they feel bad, thinking they’re holding her back—but after Kay takes off for the first or second time, they quickly understand why. Lol!
Kay always keeps things entertaining. After her turn at bat, it’s anyone’s guess what she’ll do next—whether she runs to first base as planned, dashes off to third, or heads straight for the pitcher. There’s never a dull moment! With the season running until the second weekend of November, we have plenty more weekends to enjoy Kay’s T-Ball adventures. After all, its Kay’s world, and we’re all just living in it!
