Kay and I had so much fun celebrating her friend Leo’s 4th birthday this weekend! The party was held at GiGi’s Playhouse, which is such a special place for our community. I love that we can gather with our friends and celebrate important moments at a place that means so much to us.
The birthday theme was Bluey, and it hit me that Kay has outgrown all her Bluey-themed clothes! It was a bittersweet realization—no matching outfits for the party this time, but oh well! Lol.
The party was a blast! We enjoyed food, cake, games, and spending time with our friends. Celebrating with others is something Kay and I always cherish.
One thing I often hear about Type 1 Diabetes is the misconception that diabetics are limited in what they can eat. Yes, healthier choices can make diabetes management easier, but diabetics can enjoy anything as long as they have the right amount of insulin! That’s a huge relief for me because, honestly, who can expect a toddler to follow a strict diet? I want Kay to live her life as normally as possible, with as few setbacks as we can manage. It’s been quite an adjustment, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that no two days with diabetes are ever the same.
