On Friday Kay, Maeve, my mom, and I met up with my dad at his union hall to thank the members before their meeting began. We wanted to let them know how much their generosity has meant to us. Their contributions not only helped us reach our goal to bring Maeve into our family, but went above and beyond. The extra funds will directly help cover Maeve’s pet insurance, grooming, food, and of course the endless supply of treats she’s already proven she deserves as the hardest working girl.
Even though our time with the members was brief, it was such a meaningful moment. We didn’t want to interrupt their evening or hold up the meeting, but having the chance to speak from the heart and thank them in person meant so much. Their support has surrounded our family with love, and we have seen how they extend that same generosity to so many others in need.
Moments like these remind me how strong community really is. It is not just about financial help, but about standing alongside one another and sharing in both the challenges and the victories. To know that Kay and Maeve are part of such a caring network gives me so much hope as we continue navigating this journey.
We walked away feeling incredibly grateful for their kindness and for the community that continues to stand with us on this journey with Kay and Maeve.
