Kay and I had the best time during our very first GiGi FIT Preschool session at GiGi’s Playhouse! From the moment we walked in, the energy was high, and Kay lit up seeing familiar faces—and meeting some new ones too.
One of my favorite touches was that even the littlest participants got their very own GiGi FIT t-shirt, just like the big kids and adults in other programs. Seeing Kay proudly wearing hers made it feel that much more special. It’s the kind of thoughtful inclusion that GiGi’s Playhouse always seems to get exactly right.
The session itself was centered around fun, interactive games that helped get the kids moving in playful ways. From animal walks to dancing, each activity was designed to support movement, strength, and coordination—but it just felt like pure fun to the kids. The bubble machine made an appearance (a huge hit, as always), and the room was full of laughter, motion, and music.
We also had the chance to meet new volunteers, which Kay absolutely loved. She thrives on connection, and it was beautiful to watch her bond with new friends and helpers so quickly. Each child seemed to shine in their own way, and the joy in the room was contagious.
Kay had such a great time that I’ve gone ahead and RSVP’d her for every single GiGi FIT Preschool session while the program is running. Movement is so important for all kids, but especially for kids like Kay. She responds so well to structured, joyful physical activity—and I can already see how this program is going to help her grow both physically and socially.
She now asks me at least once a day, “GiGi’s?” Her excitement every time we arrive is something I’ll never get tired of. I love how GiGi’s Playhouse rotates and refreshes their programs throughout the year, giving families like ours the chance to try something new, meet new volunteers, and build community in a warm, inclusive space.
We’re already counting down the days until next week’s session!
