On Wednesday, we headed back to GiGi’s Playhouse for Kay’s Occupational Therapy session with our sweet friend Stephanie, who teaches through the Speech House. We’re so excited that Kay will now be seeing Stephanie twice a week—on both Monday and Wednesday afternoons for OT!
Kay’s weekly therapy schedule is really filling up in the best way: OT on Mondays, Physical and Speech Therapy on Tuesdays, and back to OT again on Wednesdays. It’s a lot, but Kay is such a trooper. She truly thrives when her days are full—she loves staying active and having a routine.
Before Wednesday’s session, we had a few errands to run. One of our stops was Target to check if they had stocked the Barbie with Type One Diabetes—and they did! We found three on the shelf, and I grabbed two: one for Kay and one for a friend’s daughter who also has T1D. Such a special moment!
After our Target adventure, we made our way to GiGi’s Playhouse for therapy. Kay is already showing so much growth in her sessions with Stephanie. She’s getting more confident each week and is really catching on to their rhythm and activities.
Once OT wrapped up, we stopped by a friend’s house to hang out for a bit and give her daughter the Barbie. It was a full, fun day—and by dinnertime, Kay was wiped and ready for bed. Busy days like these are tiring, but they’re the kind that fill our hearts the most.
It’s wonderful that you were able to find the Barbie! It’s also great that Kay thrives when her day is full and active. I like your ending to the post. Busy days like these are tiring, but they’re the kind that fill our hearts the most. My little ones schedule is getting busy and it has been a change but I know it’s for the good and she can get the support and guidance she needs 🙂
