Kay wrapped up her last day of extended school year last Thursday, and I can already tell—she’s more than ready to go back! It makes me so happy to see how much Kay truly loves school. What’s even better is hearing from her teachers just how much progress she’s made, especially with her speech and overall development.
Looking back, I’m so glad I made the decision to enroll Kay in preschool through the school district when she turned three. Being in school has helped her blossom in ways that are hard to replicate at home—especially when it comes to social skills. She’s not only learning, but also making friends and enjoying every chance to play outside.
Knowing that Kay is surrounded by such a caring team of teachers brings me so much peace of mind. I can drop her off each day with confidence, knowing she’s safe, supported, and loved. Her teachers even sent home a progress report at the end of the session, sharing what they worked on and the areas where she’s grown. One note that melted my heart said Kay is incredibly empathetic—something I’ve always known. If a classmate is upset, she’ll walk over, gently place her hand on them, and say “sad.” Of course, it also mentioned that we’re still working on personal space… but that gave me a good laugh because it’s so true!
I’m just so grateful that Kay has these opportunities to learn, grow, and play. It feels like she’s blooming right before our eyes. Every day since school ended, she’s asked me, “School tomorrow?”
This August will be Kay’s final year of preschool before she heads off to Kindergarten, and I’m thankful she gets this extra year to keep building skills and confidence. We’re both excited for what this new school year will bring—and I know it’s going to be another year of amazing growth.

  1. It warms my heart to hear how much she’s growing and learning and how she loves school so much!!
So many kids don’t have these opportunities until they’re older. I work with kiddos her age and am so glad to see it being done else where! Keep growing and learning
