Kay recently had dinner with her great aunt Denease and great uncle Jm! I’m so thankful for them and the bond they’ve built with Kay over the years. Even though they live out of state, whenever they plan a trip to Las Vegas, they make a point to visit her—and it really shows how much they care.
We had them over for dinner and dessert, and Kay absolutely loved it. She was especially excited about the mini cheesecake we had for dessert, and afterward, she proudly gave them a tour of her room. Watching her hand them her fake food and make them “pretend meals” was so fun—she really enjoyed pretending to cook and share her toys with them. It was such a joyful moment seeing her enthusiasm and imagination in action.
I’ve noticed a big milestone this time: Kay was definitely more social and quicker to warm up to them. I think being in the comfort of her own home really helped her feel confident and at ease, which made the visit even more enjoyable for everyone. Family visits like this are so important—they give Kay a chance to practice social skills, build confidence, and strengthen connections with the people who love her most.
Even small moments, like laughing together over dessert or seeing her excitement as she shares her toys, feel so meaningful. These visits remind me how far Kay has come, how much her personality shines, and how valuable it is for her to have nurturing relationships with extended family. I love seeing her so happy and surrounded by people who truly adore her.
