T-Ball game number three is officially in the books—and this time, the kids had some very special guests cheering them on: superheroes!

Kay had a slightly better time on the field this week compared to last. Lately, she’s been feeling all the big emotions, and I’ll admit, it’s been tough trying to navigate what she needs and how I can best support her. She definitely has her favorite buddies—the ones she trusts to walk her up to bat—and having one of them by her side can make all the difference on those emotional days.

Even having her grandma join us in the dugout helped a little, though it didn’t completely lift her mood. Kay usually loves taking photos with friends (and she did grab a few with the superheroes!), but when it comes to pictures with me? Hard pass. I did manage to snag one decent shot of us together though! I think she’s just so used to me being behind the camera that when I jump in front of it, it throws her off. Haha.

The weather was actually perfect—not too hot, which made the whole afternoon more enjoyable. The game wasn’t as crowded as usual since both teams were short a few players. That tends to happen when the weather warms up or there’s a holiday weekend—families get busy! Because of that, the game moved along pretty quickly.

T-Ball season always flies by, so I try to make sure we make it to every game… unless it’s one of those scorching late-season afternoon games. The heat and Kay’s diabetes don’t mix well, so we’re always mindful of that. But for this game, we soaked up the fun, made the most of our time together, and cheered on our little slugger every step of the way.
