We’re only on our second T-ball game of the season, and already it’s shaping up to be such a fun and meaningful experience for Kay.

If you know anything about the weather in Las Vegas, you know the heat has decided to show up way earlier than usual this year. I was a little nervous about how the weather would play into game days, especially for the kids—but thankfully, our late afternoon game gave us a break. The weather ended up being really nice, and it made the whole experience that much more enjoyable for everyone.

Kay absolutely loves T-ball. Like, genuinely lights-up-the-second-we-get-there kind of love. There’s something so special about seeing her out on the field, surrounded by her teammates, just soaking it all in and having fun.

One of my favorite things to watch this game was how much she’s already starting to push for a little more independence. When it’s her turn at bat, she’s really trying to hit the ball off the tee herself. With just a little help getting lined up beforehand, she’s stepping in and giving it her all—and you can see how proud she is of herself in those moments. Those small steps? They’re actually really big ones.

And once that ball is hit, she is gone—always laughing, always ready, and always running to the next base like it’s the most exciting thing in the world. It’s pure joy. The kind you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

There’s just something about T-ball at this age—the energy, the teamwork, the little moments of growth happening right in front of you. It’s not about perfect plays or keeping score. It’s about confidence, encouragement, and letting these kids experience the game in their own way.

And the fact that this is only our second game of the season makes me even more excited for what’s ahead. If this is how we’re starting, I can’t wait to see how much she continues to grow, both on and off the field.
