We had a fun-filled Saturday starting with a hoedown put together by Miracle League, the organization Kay plays T-Ball through. We were originally supposed to attend the Rascal Rodeo that morning, but unfortunately it was canceled due to a horse flu outbreak. I know so many families—including us—were really looking forward to it. This would’ve been our very first Rascal Rodeo after missing it last year when Kay was in the hospital with the stomach flu, so hearing it was canceled was definitely a disappointment.
But Miracle League truly stepped up. Wanting to lift the spirits of families who were bummed about the cancelation, they quickly put together a sweet, country-themed event, and it ended up being such a bright spot in our weekend.
Kay dressed up in her little cowboy hat, the cutest outfit, and her boots, ready for a morning of fun. She loved dancing along to the music, showing off her moves, and enjoying some tacos for lunch—which, if you know Kay, you know food can sometimes be hit or miss, so seeing her happily eat was a win in itself!
Before we left, Kay got to visit with some mini pigs. She even offered them a treat! She was excited but also a little unsure, which made for the cutest reactions. And as if the morning wasn’t already filled with enough surprises, one of Kay’s T-Ball coaches stopped by with personalized books she made for each member of the team. Such a thoughtful gesture and something I know we’ll treasure.
Overall, even though the day didn’t go as originally planned, it turned into something really special. It was nice to get out, enjoy something different, and watch Kay soak it all in.
