Kay wrapped up her last T-Ball game of the spring season! Next up is fall ball, and then we’re planning to try out soccer in the winter. I love being able to find activities that not only keep Kay active but also welcome the whole family to be part of the fun. It’s important to me that she’s doing something she enjoys, and this stage in her life is the perfect time to explore different activities and see what sparks her interest.
The Miracle League community has been nothing short of incredible—always warm, welcoming, and fully inclusive. We’ve been so lucky to be surrounded by such kind-hearted people. Kay has even made some favorites, like her buddy Ray from the competitive league and a coach who goes above and beyond helping everyone throughout the day. Even when Kay arrives in a bit of a mood, she always lights up once she starts playing.
The weather for the final game couldn’t have been better. I was a little worried it might be too hot, especially since high temps can really affect Kay and her blood sugars. I didn’t want her to miss out, but I also didn’t want to push it if the weather wasn’t on our side. Thankfully, it turned out to be a cloudy day with a lovely breeze—just right for being outside.
At the end of the game, Kay’s team received their medals, which is always such a proud moment. These seasons go by so quickly, probably because we’re having such a great time. Every Saturday is something we look forward to, and it gives us structure, fun, and a sense of community.
By the time fall ball comes around, Maeve should be home with us and ready to join in on the fun too! For now, we’re soaking in the memories and taking a little break—until next season!
